FAQs

How long, or short, should my hair be for waxing?

The hair should be at least 1/4 to 1/2 an inch long for the best results. If you have coarse hair it should be closer to 1/2 an inch for the first few waxes. Once the hair becomes finer it can be waxed at a shorter length. It may take up to 4 waxing treatments to achieve smooth skin, as the hair grows in varying stages. It's very important not to shave or trim between waxes.

How often should I get waxed?

I recommend waxing every 4 weeks for the first 4 appointments. Then, as the hair gets finer, and into a more regulated growth pattern you can extend that period as necessary. Some people can even go as long as 8 weeks!

What should I do before my waxing appointment?

*Make sure the hair is the appropriate length, as above.
*Make sure the area/s to be waxed are clean.
*Exfoliate your skin gently for a few days prior, to remove any dead skin.
*Advise of any medication, skin conditions or allergies that may affect your treatment.

What should I expect after my first waxing treatment?

Hairless skin!!!
Everyone's skin reacts differently, but you may experience temporary soreness and reddening of the skin. Wearing clean loose clothing and ensuring proper aftercare can help alleviate any symptoms.

What is a Hollywood wax?

A Hollywood wax is the removal of all the pubic hair from the front, labia, right through to the back (butt crack) using hot wax. You can opt to have a small strip left at the front, but please advise your therapist before waxing commences.

How old should I be to get waxed?

I can wax clients of all ages, but anyone under 16 would need to be accompanied by a parent, and a consent form filled in.
